The English Department seeks to develop sensitive and critical readers and writers who value reading and writing as modes of discovery, thought, and communication. Verbal communication is an essential, real life skill that we I corporate into all of our classes in each Form. We emphasize listening and speaking through class discussion, dramatic reading, and oral reports.

Mathmatics
The purpose of a KARI Elementary School’s mathematical education is to develop students’ understanding of and appreciation for the ability to make sense of the world through the lens of mathematics: space and number, logic and pattern. We nurture students’ development by challenging them to be creative, critical and tenacious problem solvers, able to both share and reflect on their process and results with clarity and precision. Throughout, we seek to nurture and develop an appreciation for the joy and beauty of mathematics in all KARI Elementary School’s graduates.

Science
The Science Program at KARI Elementary School’s aims to develop students who are scientifically literate, create opportunities for the interdisciplinary study of science. In an effort to meet these goals the program engages students in the process of science through the study of the core ideas that pervade the discipline: energy and matter.

Social Studies
Social studies is the study of people in relation to each other and to their world. It is an issues- focused and inquiry-based interdisciplinary subject that draws upon history, geography, ecology, economics, law, philosophy, political science and other social science disciplines. In India education system, social studies is the integrated study of multiple fields of social science and the humanities, including history, geography, and political science. The social studies aims to train students for informed, responsible participation in a diverse democratic society.

Computer Science
The Computer Science program is designed to expose students to thinking like a computer scientist, including learning how to transfer concepts from one language to another. Students will learn how to work in a team to tackle complex technical problems and we’ll look at current events through a computer science lens. The goal is to give students both technical ability and comfort with computers and computer science.

Art and Craft
Arts and crafts describes a wide variety of activities involving making things with one’s own hands. Arts and crafts is usually a hobby. Children in KARI Elementary School may learn skills such as woodworking, wood carving, sewing, or making things with all sorts of material. Through arts and craft, children learn to value and appreciate artifacts and images across cultures and times. Experience in design, art, and crafts enable them to reflect critically on their own work and those by others. Students learn to act and think like designers and artists, working intelligently and creatively.
